Acknowledge that you are a sinner by nature and by choice. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Realize that you cannot save yourself. For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the free gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:9 Understand that Jesus loves you and that He died for you on the cross. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Repent of your sin. Repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out. (Acts 3:19) Place your faith in Jesus Christ. For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the free gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8) Ask the Lord to save you. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:9-10,13) If you have done this, you are a Christian! You are a believer! Several steps need to follow this conversion experience. They include: * Joining a New Testament, Bible-believing church * Being baptized, by which you publicly acknowledge your belief in Jesus Christ * Growing your relationship with Jesus Christ and helping others begin to grow in their relationship to Him
